| 2004 GU12 Mission Viejo Classic Champions! |
 |
Los Al battled through the three pool play matches with a perfect 3 dominating wins. The first opponent was the home team, Mission Viejo. Los Al jumped to a 5-0 lead in the first quarter and had to pull back the troops. Los Al coasted to a 7-0 win. The second opponent was a very strong team from La Mirada. La Mirada had finished just a few points behind Los Al in the spring season competition but the two teams did not play each other in spring. Bragging rights were settled on the field at Mission Viejo with Los Al scoring a decisive 2-0 win. The Los Al defense was incredible with only a couple of scoring threats the entire match. The Los Al girls began to get that championship feeling and showed up to play on Sunday morning for the third match. Against a skilled Moreno Valley team, Los Al put away a 3-0 win. A stellar defensive performance and explosive offense were way too much for Moreno Valley. And then came the championship showdown against Lakewood. Los Al simply exploded from the start and built up a 3-0 lead at halftime with the ball rarely going across midfield. Los Al finished the job with a 5-0 victory.
Los Al was awarded very large championship medals, a huge team trophy, tournament t-shirts, and an offer to participate with a Los Angeles Galaxy Champions Recognition event at the Home Depot Center. Los Al played 4 perfect matches with a cumulative score of 17 goals for and 0 goals against. Explosive offense. Impenetrable defense. Spectators came up after every match and complemented Los Al as being one of the best teams they had watched, particularly for the passing game. The Mission Viejo tournament had an interesting coincidence with the first tournament played by the team back in January. This tournament was the Fountain Valley Hi-5 in which Los Al took the championship with a perfect 17 goals for and 0 goals against. That is a strong start and a strong finish.
