The Los Al GU10 Spring Competitive Team capped off a very successful season by winning the 2002 GU10 Championship at the Cypress Memorial Day Classic Tournament. The girls breezed through their Pool by beating tough teams from La Mirada, Cypress, Redondo Beach and Menifee. The girls accomplished this by scoring 23 goals and only allowing 2 scored against them.
In the semi-final game, Los Alamitos faced a very fast and aggressive team from Downey and managed a win by a score of 5 to 3. This win set up the championship game against a Cerritos team. Los Alamitos kept up their blazing pace on offense in the championship game by scoring 3 goals. Their super aggressive defense allowed a very strong Cerritos team only one goal for a final score of 3- 1. Coaches Pete Carvajal and Taryn Barrette want to thank the families and friends who came out to support the team and especially the girls who played their hearts out for a huge win.
