Region 159 was represented in the Fifth Annual McMillan Invitational Soccer Tournament by "The Moody Blues", a GU11 team formed by Coach Robert Housely. The Blues made it to the GU11 Championship game by defeating some tough AYSO "Plus" teams from Costa Mesa, Newport Beach and Mission Viejo. In the championship game, the Blues faced the only other undefeated team, Rancho Santa Margarita (RSM). The score at the end of the game was 0-0 and was decided by "Kicks From the Penalty Mark" (a shootout). The game was decided on the last kick, when Blues goalie, Greer Wilk stopped the last shot from RSM--giving the Blues an official 1-0 win. This was a very exciting finish to a great weekend.
