Playground U4 Fall 2022 Program Details

Soccer is right around the corner! Our AYSO Region 159 U4 Playground program starts next Saturday, August 27th. It includes 10 sessions and runs every Saturday through November 5th (no session on September 3rd - Labor Day Weekend). The program consists of a 45-minute training session. The sessions are run in partnership with Deft Touch Soccer Academy and will focus on soccer fundamentals, in a relaxed, interactive and fun environment. Sessions will conclude with scrimmages. Parent participation and involvement is highly encouraged. Remember we are a 100% volunteer organization.

The U4 Playground Program is an introductory program for our youngest players. The goal of the U4 program is to primarily get the kids outside playing with friends while introducing basic soccer fundamentals and concepts. We will introduce basic skills and gameplay with end of session scrimmages. Each child will perform at their own level, and don't be discouraged if the first few sessions seem overwhelming for your child. Be patient and allow your child time to get comfortable with the program.

DETAILS:

AYSO Region 159 will provide a size 3 soccer ball, soccer socks, a draw string soccer bag and a t-shirt to all participants.

When:

Saturday Mornings August 27 - November 5th (No Session September 3rd)

U4 Playground Boys - 8:30AM - 9:15AM
U4 Playground Girls - 9:30AM - 10:15AM

Where:

Lee Elementary (Field Entrance is on the back side of the school).
11455 Wembley Road, Rossmoor, CA 90720

What to wear / not wear and bring:

Size 3 soccer ball
Soccer Socks
Shin Guards (worn under the socks please)
Athletic and weather appropriate clothing
Shoes (Soccer cleats optional at this age, tennis / running shoes will be ok)
No hard hair clips
No rigid braces or casts allowed
No bracelets

Equipment may be purchased at Play It Again Sports, Walmart, Target, Dick's Sporting Goods, etc. Don't worry about spending a ton of money on gear, just get the most basic equipment, remember they are just getting started! Play It Again Sports is a great option as they have used gear and are a local Los Alamitos store.

Bathrooms:

The school bathrooms are generally open Saturdays. However, there may be times when the bathrooms are not open, and unfortunately, we do not control the locks. Please be sure to have your child use the restroom before arriving at the field.

If you cannot make the first session, no worries, you do not need to advise us. We will have your child's gear at the September 10th day as well.
